Full Version: Shields Armor Structure Questions

I have 3 questions about Shields/Armor/Structure. I read both of these threads, but there are a couple concepts I haven't picked up. (Sorry, I can't post links since this is my first post...)

1- I understand that shields must be depleted before there is any damage to structure. Is this the case with armor as well (except for AP like gauss)?

I also am not sure I'm reading weapon stats correctly.

Laser I
200% vs shields
100% vs armor
50% vs structure
Dmg at Min/Max Rng: 6/2

Nuclear Missile I
80% vs Shields
60% vs Armor
100% vs Structure
Dmg at Min/Max Rng: 8/8

2- If hit with Laser I at min range, a Shield I will block 1 point of damage, leaving 5 points, but Laser I is doubled (?) against shields, so will do 10 damage total to the shield.

If hit with Nuke I, Shield I will block 1 point, leaving 7 points which are reduced 80% doing 6 points of damage to the shield.

Is this correct?

3- Armor doesn't reduce damage like shields, it's just additional HP (structure) correct?

Yes.

Correct, only shields have inherent damage reduction.
