If you can't vote due to not enough posts put your answer down here i guess

RE: Favorite music?
Depends on the mood. Anything that makes me move I like. If I had to choose, I'd narrow it down to psychedelic jam bands.

I'd like to note that if you're going to make a poll about something as broad as music taste, you should try to include as many genres as possible in the options rather than just lump classical, jazz, blues, R&B, techno, folk/ethnic, neofolk and a load of other relatively big genres in an option called "Other".

I know but it only allows ten options
And this is the only poll I've seen on here

RE: Favorite music?
Oh, right. Didn't know there's a restriction like that. That's annoying.

Anyway, since I'm writing here...

I like a wide variety of music ranging from pop, rap, techno and dubstep to neofolk, classical and metal, with my favorites leaning more on the heavier side. It depends more on the individual artist than the genre, though. And most of what I listen to is not sung in English and/or does not originate from the anglophone world.

A few of my all-time favorite artists, in no particular order:

Opeth, a progressive metal band from Stockholm, Sweden. Started out with some really heavy albums but has been incredibly versatile and experimental over the years, with a few albums completely devoid of any metal elements.

Porcupine Tree, a progressive rock band from Hemel Hempstead, England. They've collaborated with Opeth on several occasions and the lead singers of the two bands are good buddies.

Tengger Cavalry, a nomadic folk metal band originally from Beijing, China, but with roots in Mongolian folk music and currently based in New York, USA. The way they use Mongolian throat singing amidst more modern elements is really fascinating. I've had the song below playing on repeat probably more often than any other song I've ever listened to.

Stefanie Sun (孙燕姿 Sūn Yànzī), a mandopop singer from Singapore, extremely popular in mainland China. Her voice is very recognizable and several of her songs are much more interesting, IMHO, than the vast majority of Mandarin-language pop music.

Origa, or Olga Yakovleva, a Russian singer who's best known for her anime-related collaborations in Japan, such as the OST of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, linked below.

UNISON, a witch house duo from Paris, France. Discovered this jewel by total accident when a former flatmate of mine was listening to their debut album at home. This stuff is best listened to with circumaural hifi headphones.

Ludovico Einaudi, Italian pianist and composer, world-famous for his minimalist, cinematic classical compositions. He's coming to perform in Helsinki next May and I'm already pretty hyped up about it.
